Why St Francis Hospice moved to the cloud

Welcome to the third in our series of blogs revealing how our clients combine the latest cloud technologies with a range of Trilogy services to deliver strategic digital transformation objectives.

St Francis Hospice (SFH) is a voluntary organisation which provides specialist palliative care for the people of north Dublin. SFH cared for 1,713 patients and their families in 2018.  This represents a 6% increase on 2017 activity, an 11% increase on 2016 activity and a 19% increase on 2015 activity.  SFH is celebrating 30 years of care in 2019.

Why did SFH upgrade?

St Francis Hospice knew things needed to change. Their IT was good, but out-dated. Their “reactive” IT service meant that when things went wrong, the team had to spend time fixing it which took time away from optimising patient care.

What are the benefits for SFH?

The proactive managed services solution from Trilogy means that the newly updated IT infrastructure and systems are continually monitored and managed. This prevents problems before they actually happen. The hospice team can rest easy knowing that resolutions occur before potential issues turn into emergencies.
