Welcome to the third in our series of blogs revealing how our clients combine the latest cloud technologies with a range of Trilogy services to deliver strategic digital transformation objectives.
St Francis Hospice
(SFH) is a voluntary organisation which provides specialist palliative care for
the people of north Dublin. SFH cared for 1,713 patients and their
families in 2018. This represents a 6%
increase on 2017 activity, an 11% increase on 2016 activity and a 19% increase
on 2015 activity. SFH is celebrating 30
years of care in 2019.
did SFH upgrade?
St Francis Hospice knew things needed to change. Their IT was good, but out-dated. Their “reactive” IT service meant that when things went wrong, the team had to spend time fixing it which took time away from optimising patient care.
are the benefits for SFH?
managed services solution from Trilogy means that the newly updated IT
infrastructure and systems are continually monitored and managed. This prevents
problems before they actually happen. The hospice team can rest easy knowing
that resolutions occur before potential issues turn into emergencies.
implemented a secure virtual private cloud to ensure that core applications and
patient data are well protected. With Backup and Disaster Recovery as a Service,
the organisation is secure in the knowledge that patient care will not be
disrupted should an IT disaster happen. St
Francis Hospice now has few management concerns in relation to its IT and full
visibility to their environment is available via Trilogy’s edge/point portal, which also provides GDPR-compliant reporting. The
Trilogy team takes care of it all.
St Francis Hospice now has a fully proactive Managed IT as a Service. Endpoint security and patch management, 2FA and secure wireless were addressed as part of this. The addition of high speed wireless to the environment, means that patients and families can stay connected at all times.
“St Francis Hospice has embraced the cloud thanks to Trilogy. We chose a proactive managed IT service which means our IT systems are available and secure. More importantly, Trilogy takes care of any issues which occur, so we can focus on our core purpose, patient care.”Fintan Fagan, CEO, St Francis Hospice
