The Campion Insurance Group has evolved to become one of Ireland’s most modern and innovative commercial and personal lines brokers with more than 150 staff and offices in eleven locations around the country and one in the UK. As a transactional business, giving quotes and plans to people who don’t want to wait around, it was essential that the company's IT platforms supported business growth and did not distract from day-to-day operations.

The Challenge

Campion Insurance’s growth has involved the acquisition of a number of businesses resulting in a myriad of IT systems.  It was recognised that in order to achieve both performance and cost efficiencies the company needed to centralise operations and establish a managed network.

The Solution

Trilogy Technologies, Campion Insurances’ ICT services provider, implemented a fully redundant virtual private cloud infrastructure which when configured was moved offsite to a data centre. The core infrastructure upgrade included the implementation of a Virtual Server environment, Active Directory and Citrix upgrades as well as moving from an on-premises MS Exchange environment to a public cloud based MS Office 365 email service.

The Result

Business continuity and disaster recovery are facilitated by the implementation of the Veeam suite of products providing a replicated platform to a secondary location for the production environment and critical systems. The overall solution is underpinned by an outsourced Trilogy monthly fee Managed Services contract. This service provides a fully outsourced helpdesk, on-going administration and management of the company’s infrastructure along with additional application and system monitoring.  The Trilogy Edge/point portal provides comprehensive reporting on all of these activities.
